I still like both fighters and I'll still await this fight eagerly, this promotion angle is just so disappointing though.jiMMAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04506393383532511261noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7838227697366604035.post-20371136466957677602012-02-19T06:26:38.464-08:002012-02-19T06:26:38.464-08:00Great post! I think it's very hypocritical of Tate to talk about breaking down the barriers that exist for female fighters, while at the same time enforcing them along with Rousey and Strikeforce. I can see why they are doing it, they seem to think it's the only way for them to make money and promote Womens MMA succesfully. I think this is not only false but very selfish and damaging for gender equality and for the sport. I find it frustrating and offputting to watch this kind of enforcement of the gender stereotypes and I agree with Jimma that it's patronizing to both women and men. They may lose fans because of it, I know I'm no longer one. If it's respect they are after I think they are going down the wrong lane. It's such a shame because they truly are talented athletes, just wish they could be as good rolemodels as they are fighters.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
